Marc Goldberg, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in advanced corneal, cataract and refractive surgery. In his private practice, Dr. Goldberg employs medical and surgical interventions using innovative clinical and academic advances in the field including the broad spectrum of corneal transplantation procedures, advanced cataract surgical techniques with premium technology lens implantation and other ocular surface surgery for infectious, inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the anterior segment of the eye.
Dr. Goldberg graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University. He went on to also earn his medical degree there. Finishing an ophthalmology residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, he completed a prestigious two-year cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. At Washington University, Dr. Goldberg was involved in research that led to the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of the excimer laser for use in the United States. After fellowship training, he served as assistant professor of ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he directed the Infirmary’s cornea and refractive surgery lecture series garnering the Infirmary’s Resident Teaching Award.
He is appointed as clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and as adjunct clinical assistant professor at the OSU School of Osteopathic Medicine, both in Tulsa. Dr. Goldberg has served on the Medical Advisory Board and Accreditation Committee of the Eye Bank Association of America, the primary national organization responsible for oversight of tissue banks supplying corneas for transplantation nationwide. Through his training, clinical work and teaching, Dr. Goldberg has gained extensive experience in corneal transplantation, advanced cataract surgery and refractive surgery techniques. He has received esteemed recognition as one of Oklahoma’s ophthalmologists to be listed as an Oklahoma “Top Doctor” (Castle Connolly – America’s Top Doctors).
